When You're a Rock at the Bottom of the Pile

Scribble Stones is formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally) where it takes up the entire screen. Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book. A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it. Basically a stone looks forward to being picked for an exciting helping others career, but it is picked last, and ends up a paperweight. It doesn't like this and comes up with a way to help others.

fantastic book for teachers!

I would recommend this book to anyone. The cover also doubles as a poster which I taped to my board after our read aloud. Here are our scribble stones!

Another winner

A fan of this author from her very first book, this one is no exception. Simple, engaging, creative and adorable! My artsy/mama/teacher heart is happy!

Cute, creative and collaborative!

I love how this stone comes from the bottom to help others! A great message for kids, plus there's a fun collaborative project idea in the back! Diane's best book yet!

Another great story from an awesome author

Being a huge fan of Ms. Alber's work, or rather my niece and nephew being huge fans, we had to check out her latest creation. Scribble stones is a great story about a stone that's picked last, but discovers meaning in his individuality. It's a great read for children with another great message and lesson. Very fun, and the activities offer a great alternative to uninspiring screen time.

So cute! A reason for reading this book....

We paint rocks all the time, for our stone garden and for pet rocks, and to share with others. This is a fun book to read before you start painting. It gives you a reason to paint them, and it makes it so much more exciting!

Awe ❤️❤️❤️ sweet book!

This is the sweetest book ever! I love making kindness rocks which made reading this book even more fun 😍 Great read and the kids I work with would love starting a rock project like this.

Scribble Stones... go find yours to decorate!

Another AMAZING book by Diane Alber! And goes along with her “A Little SPOT of...” books/series. The inside cover that’s a poster is shown in pictures. Resources to go along with books can be found on Diane Alber’s website.

Positive story with engaging illustrations

The scribble books always bring tears to my eyes. This is a great story to read just to be read, or to explain to children that everyone has a purpose. A fun story with a positive message. Be ready for some rock painting fun when you're done. It's the first things the kids will want to do after you get to the last page

Don’t be fooled by the cover.

My 2 yo loves stones and rocks and I saw this book had good reviews on Amazon, which is why I got her this book. Unfortunately, it might be one of the most poorly written and least interesting children’s books I’ve ever read. It’s clear the producers of this book were just looking to make some money. My daughter loves books and asks to read them over and over but she didn’t even sit through the first reading of this one.
