For a fraction of the cost of a dog launcher, my border collie loves this machine. It took a while to learn the steps (grab ball, drop ball, drop ball in feeder, wait, retrieve ball) but oh so worth it. We use this indoors and out. Highly recommend.

I have been a Baseball Coach for four years now (ages 4-9) in my opinion if you don't have $1.000 to spend on a pitching machine then this is the best option at an amazing price! I have seen a few of the online reviews, people are complaining because the ball does not go perfectly straight on every pitch, yes about every 5 to 7 pitches the ball will Veer off left or right about a foot or so.. I have found this to be excellent in training for the young children, because not every pitch is perfectly straight anyway.. the ball is pitched at a perfect speed for young kids learning to dial in there hitting. It is not pitched to hard where you would get a black eye if hit by it so it is excellent for catching training as well. Every child that used this with me has become a Better all around player after the first day, including neighborhood kids that have never even been on a Baseball team.

dogs love chasing these balls but chewed them up pretty quick...get some Jugs Vision-enhanced green poly baseballs as they work in the pitching machine also

For the amount I paid, I was not expecting much. I made sure to purchase different wiffle balls to use with it, per other reviews recommendations and I am surely glad I did. The balls that come with it have some soft spots so can make the machine a little unpredictable but with the other balls, it has more accuracy. I love the fact that when there are no more balls in the chute, it stops the machine. So the battery doesn't get drained if my toddler chooses to turn it on. The first ball pitched is always going to be short as the machine warms up. So we have a bag of balls and keep loading them so we dont waste a ball every time it warms up.

For the price this does what it is supposed to do. Gave it to our grandson for his 6th birthday. He loves it. Also gave him two sets of the "Jugs Poly Baseballs." The pitching machine's angle can be adjusted and it uses 4 D size batteries.

Great toy for 4-5 yearolds to develop hand eye coordination. Adult supervision is key to adjusting the speed and angle of ball release. Awesome fun.

Perfect for practice! My 7 year old loves it. 1st year playing baseball so he needs a lot of practice. This little unit helps him develop his batting skills. I like that it lights up when the ball is about to be thrown. It has different positions so it helps with highs and lows. The only thing I don't like is that it only brings 6 balls. We lost 2 in our back yard. I will be buying more baseballs as we use this little guy 2 or 3 times a week... that's how much my son loves it.

After reading other reviews I decided to purchase and also to get some Jugs Poly baseballs. I tested the balls it came with. The stock balls were very erratic. The jugs balls are much more consistent. I'd say on average 8/10 are strikes. Pretty great machine for the money. Talked two other dad's into getting for their kids pretty easily once they saw some videos of my son using it. Here's the Jugs balls I got. Others may work similar styled as long as diameter is the same. This machine works off friction between two rubber spinning donuts just like a mini Jugs pitching machine. https://www.amazon.com/Jugs-Poly-Baseballs-Dozen-White/dp/B00R8EWOZK/ref=pd_aw_sim_21_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZBCV9C1RHS5BE9G713RW

Install Flash Player So far, this seems like a great product for the money. My five-yr-old is pumped to have it. He can load it himself and then go stand wait for the pitches. He’s not hitting a lot of the pitches yet, but that’s the idea. I think it could be valuable for kids a little bit older too if they don’t have access to a machine that can throw real balls. The speed will not challenge older hitters much. I’ve tested it with three different kinds of wiffle balls. The balls that came with it (lighter, no holes) -vs- a slightly thicker ball with holes (bought at Dick’s) -vs- some durable and more flexible Precision Impact balls. The Precision Impact balls were wildly inconsistent (maybe they compress too easily). Of the other two, the original balls that came with it have proved to be the more consistent (small sample size). I did not hold the base of the unit, and recoil was minimal. I was shooting the balls on the most flat trajectory the machine can do. The video was recorded with fresh batteries in a fresh machine, just removed from the shipping box.

Bought this for our 7 year old along with a red bat and extra wiffle balls. We put in 4D batteries and it works great. It was super easy to set up and including adding batteries we were playing in minutes. Glad we got the 8 pack of balls to go with it. Didn't realize the colorful wiffle balls that we also purchased would be way too big to use in the pitching machine. Lots of fun and easy to use.
